Lochluichart Wind Farm Turbine Deliveries

Escorted deliveries to Lochluichart Wind Farm were completed on Friday 8th November.  Eneco would like to thank all of the local community for their patience during this time and apologise for any inconvenience the deliveries may have caused.

30 October 2013

One morning escorted delivery will continue daily until 1st November. There will be no escorted deliveries on Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th November. The final two morning escorted deliveries are planned to take place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th November. The website will be updated should there be any delays in this schedule.

There will continue to be one escorted delivery per working day departing Invergordon at approximately 9:00am - 9:30am, subject to police availability.

There will continue to be one escorted delivery per working day for the remainder of this week and over the course of next week.

28 August 2013

Escorted deliveries will be reduced to one delivery per working day from Monday 2nd September. The deliveries will depart Invergordon at 9:30am Monday to Friday subject to police escorts.  We expect escorted deliveries to take a further eight weeks (week commencing 2nd October 2013) to complete.   The image below shows the lower section of a tower being erected at Lochluichart Wind Farm.

The following schedule (subject to change) will be taking place over the next few weeks: On 21st, 22nd and 23rd August there will be one escorted delivery to Lochluichart Wind Farm taking place in the morning (time cannot be confirmed). There will be a 1200 tonne crane and support vehicles that will commence arrival from 23rd August; although there will be an increase of traffic, these vehicles will not require escort vehicles.
On 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th August there will be two escorted deliveries to Lochluichart Wind Farm, one in the morning and one in the afternoon (times cannot be confirmed). All of these estimates are subject to change depending on the police having available escort personnel. Eneco would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

A spokesperson for Eneco UK said: “The turbine transportation to Lochluichart Wind Farm is due to commence from the morning of Monday 6th August until Monday 4th of November, with smaller loads being transported from Friday 2nd August. While care has been taken to ensure that movements cause as little disruption as possible, Eneco apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused. “We can advise that the roads that may be affected during the transportation period are the B817, A9 and A835 between Invergordon and Loch Glascarnoch Dam. While we expect that any disruption will be minimal, we do recommend leaving extra time for journeys along this route.
